Bioeconomic development of prime market for Sea lettuce (Ulva lactuca) and Gutweed (Ulva (Enteromorpha intestinalis).
The purpose of this bioeconomic project is to develop harvesting and cultivation methods for sea lettuce and gut weed in the North Atlantic. Working with farmers and landowners in rural areas, chefs and fresh food vendors to develop a supply chain and marketing a sustainable fresh sea lettuce from the pristine north. Sea lettuce is a food that fulfills public health goals and by creating a new market and a new income source for rural coastline areas.
